This project started as a portrait sketch and evolved into a play on the triadic color scheme of blue, yellow, and red. The concept behind this illustration was to pique the interest of the viewer with saturated colors that play on the eyes and capture attention. The expression of the subject is meant to evoke feelings of startled urgency. The biggest challenge on this piece was creating the low level highlights on the face that bring a subtle realism to the illustration and help bring it to life.
